WHO WE ARE

A Distinct Identity

The Manning Association is chartered in Massachusetts with the primary mission of preserving and maintaining the Manning Manse located in North Billerica, Massachusetts and other historic relics. We preserve and update the records of the descendants of William Manning. We aim to publish successive volumes of the Manning genealogy and encourage friendly interaction among WIlliam's descendants,
The Manse was built by Samuel Manning in 1696.
Membership in the Manning Association is open to all descendants of William Manning whom emigrated from England to the Boston area in 1634. Associate memberships are available to anyone, subject to the approval of the board.

MANNING FAMILY REUNION

Keeping the Family Together

Reunion gatherings of the Manning clan have been held at the Manse usually on or near the June 17th Anniversary of the Association's founding in 1900.
The Manning Association has since held ownership of and taken responsibility for the Manning Manse. A disastrous fire in 1994 partially destroyed the Manse, and extensive repairs were required to render the building safe, and to keep its construction consistent with methods and materials as used in its original version. The Association operates the building in part as a public facility, operated by a tenant as an Inn or Restaurant, while maintaining the remainder of the building as a historically important structure, the oldest still standing in the Billerica area.
